ANNO 2022/2023
This is the 12th edition of our annual newsletter. Despite the moving of our studio, a real big effort, we luckily also exposed our work and went on developing new stuff.
We wish our friends, relatives and colleagues a great 2023!
femmeBRUT
femmeBRUT started with the crowdfunding campaign at Voordekunst. Thanks to all the donations I was able to make a catalog with an edition of 300. The project reached 140%!
There was a splashing opening with a performance of Janine and the festive music of the Frankfurter Polka Trio.
Above all, there were a lot of visitors!

In June Wim Vonk exhibited his large drawings. Moniek Spaans wrote a nice article in Atelier, a glossy magazine.

Patterns of work in NO ART FASHION
Poster mail art project The exhibition ‘Patterns of work’ is an initiative of Holger Wendland. 50 artists from all over the world have participated in this traveling project. This time it was shown in Roggel (Li).

Movie Ontroerwoud
Inge Willems was making a movie of Wim’s Ontroerwoud in Oude Niedorp. Because of the move to Abcoude it stopped.
She is now making an artist portrait in her own time.

3x lezing over ArtCeb
Op 27-6-2022 hielden Wim Vonk, Isidoor Wens en ik een lezing met een diashow over de A.i.R. in Suriname. Wim over zijn werk in de A.i.R periode, Isidor over ArtCeb, Marja over culturele toe-eigening. (link)

Popup kapel
Popup Kapel is a permanent exhibition of Wim Vonk made in a brand new sea container. It is dedicated to his ancestors, not only his biological ancestors but also his artistic ancestors.
The right wall is filled with spear-shaped objects, which are also attributes in a performance/dance.
Arti fotowedstrijd tijdens lockdown
Tijdens de lockdown in 2020 organiseerde Gonny van Oudenallen een fotowedstrijd via de Arti Leden Facebookpagina.
Strangely enough, Marja won the 1st prize. At the beginning of 2022, the ‘awards’ were given in Arti: a bottle of wine. This funny event did result in the participation of both of us in the Suriname exhibition in the Amstelkerk. Myra Winter and Anja Swart were also present and involved in organizing ashow in the Amstelkerk: LUKU / Omzien naar… hoe Suriname inspireert en verbindt (see above)..

IJ Kunst Collectief
Voor deze zesde editie heeft Edwin van den Hoek veertig kunstenaars geselecteerd uit de vrije en uit de toegepaste kunst. Door de diversiteit en de combinatie van disciplines is deze pop-up presentatie een vaste waarde op de kunstagenda geworden en een aantrekkelijk alternatief voor de kunstbeurzen van de gevestigde orde. Marja’s werk had een mooie prominente plaats.

Trudi van Zadelhoff
In memoriam
5 jan 1960 – 16 dec 2022
How very sad that Trudi passed away.. and a great loss for the art!
Trudi opened Marja’s exhibition in Rotterdam in 2019 (organised by Astrid Moors), we prepared a lecture together for about a women, she wrote a text for my catalogue femmeBRUT and stimulated Astrid and me in the background with the text and concept for an exhibition that finally became 50-50 in PLAYroom Zaandam.

A Given Space
After a long absence due to Corona, the installation A Given Space is back in the field !!! Next month the Given Space will perform in the Kennemer Theater in Beverwijk (near Amsterdam). The performance will last until February 14. Wim Vonk is participating.

Visitors
This year we had very few visitors due again to the moving of our studio.
A few people came to Abcoude, we did not make any photo. A lot of people are coming next year, looking forward!
Ibiza
To relax during the whole proces of finding a place and moving Jos Kleiss invited us to visit his
‘finca’ at Ibiza. An old historical farm.
Moving the studio
This year was largely determined by the search for a new place, the packing and moving of our stuff and building the new studio. We got help from friends and tried to get on with our work as good as we can but still it was a burden!
